Accessibility statement: Oma Kymenlaakso app

This accessibility statement applies to the Oma Kymenlaakso app. The service is covered by the Act on the Provision of Digital services (306/2019), which requires digital public services to be accessible.

We want to offer digital services that are accessible to all users. In this accessibility statement, we set out the shortcomings in the accessibility of the service and how you can give us feedback and development suggestions related to the accessibility of the website. This accessibility statement was published on 25 August 2025. 

The description of the accessibility of the website is based on an assessment by the Wellbeing Services County of Kymenlaakso and an external expert organisation.

The accessibility status of the digital service

The services meet accessibility requirements in part.

Non-accessible content

The accessibility shortcomings are grouped as follows:

• understandable
• robust.

Perceivable

• There were shortcomings in reviewing the choices selected: Assistive technologies do not provide details of the options selected when reviewing responses. (1.3.1)
• There are shortcomings in the headings: Some texts that function as headers are not programmed as headers. (1.3.1)
• The application cannot be used in all orientations: The application does not adjust when the screen is put in landscape position. (1.3.4)
• There are shortcomings in the contrast of the focus indicator in keyboard use: In some places, the contrast of the focus indicator in keyboard use is not sufficient with all technologies. (1.4.11)

Operable

• Some elements have shortcomings when using a keyboard or assistive device: Some elements cannot be managed smoothly with small screens with just a keyboard or assistive devices. (2.1.1)
• There are shortcomings in the focus order: The focus order is not logical in some places. (2.4.3)
• The focus indicator is not visible in all elements The service contains elements where the keyboard focus indicator is not visible (2.4.7)
• Use requires path-based pointer gestures: The service contains elements used with a horizontal swipe gesture (2.5.1)

Understandable

• The user does not always receive text-based error messages: In places, there are no text-formatted error messages where an error has occurred in a field. (3.3.1)

Robust

• Not all elements have a descriptive accessible name: The service contains elements with no accessible name. (4.1.2)
• There are shortcomings in the roles of the elements: The service contains elements with no or non-descriptive roles. (4.1.2) 
• There are shortcomings in the notification of states: The service contains elements in connection with which there are insufficient notifications of the various states. (4.1.2)
• Status messages are not directly transmitted to assistive devices: The service contains status messages that are not directly transmitted to assistive devices. (4.1.3)
